Courses / National Contraception Training Service

Ngā akoranga

Family Planning is a specialist provider of clinical training for nurses, midwives and doctors. We take our expert clinical knowledge and apply it to online and in-person courses covering cervical screening, contraception, STIs and general sexual and reproductive health.

The National Contraception Training Service’s online training in Contraceptive Counselling, Intrauterine Contraception Theory, Contraceptive Implants Theory and Trainer and Assessor are provided by Family Planning (see course details and registration below).  Registration for practical training is also initiated through the two Practical Training and Assessment courses below.  Please select the NCTS Training Pathway to follow the options available for training. We have developed a suite of Frequently Asked Questions about the NCTS programme.

If you are a doctor looking for specialist training in the family planning and reproductive health scope, this training is run by the New Zealand College of Sexual and Reproductive Health

Family Planning's health promotion teams deliver courses on all aspects of sexual and reproductive health and relationships. They offer courses suitable for teachers and support staff, guidance counsellors, school nurses, carers, social workers, and others working with young people.

Please read our Student Information and Terms and Conditions of Courses here. When you sign up for a course, this indicates you have read and agree with Family Planning’s Terms and Conditions of Courses.

On signing up, you’ll also be asked to create an account so all you’ll need to do is log in again when enrolling for any other Family Planning courses.
