Courses / National Contraception Training Service

Ngā akoranga

Family Planning is a specialist provider of clinical training for nurses, midwives and doctors. We take our expert clinical knowledge and apply it to online and in-person courses covering cervical screening, contraception, STIs and general sexual and reproductive health.

The National Contraception Training Service will run both online and practical training in Contraception Counselling, Intra-uterine devices, Implants, and Train the Trainer training commencing Q4 2020.  Please select the NCTS Training Matrix to follow the path required to your certification once the National Contraception Guidelines are published. We have developed a suite of Frequently Asked Questions about the NCTS programme. If you are not currently wait-listed for training, contact your Funding and Planning Manager at your regional DHB, or submit your expression of interest here

If you are a doctor looking for specialist training in the family planning and reproductive health scope, this training is run by the New Zealand College of Sexual and Reproductive Health

Family Planning's health promotion teams deliver courses on all aspects of sexual and reproductive health and relationships. They offer courses suitable for teachers and support staff, guidance counsellors, school nurses, carers, social workers, and others working with young people.

When you want to sign up for a course, you’ll be asked to create your own account. Next time you want to do a course with us, you'll just need to log in.
