The Healthy Families Project in Kiribati is making exciting progress, with several key activities being implemented over the past couple of months.
An advocacy meeting with community leaders was conducted by the director of Family Planning International in late June.
The objective was to increase community leaders’ awareness about sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Following this, clinical training on contraceptive methods was delivered by two medical professionals from Family Planning New Zealand to 15 qualified health professionals in Tarawa over a four day period.
The key objective of these trainings was to improve the quality of sexual and reproductive health and rights service delivery.
And end in late July the mobile clinical services got up and running, where targeted communities in Tarawa will have the benefit of sexual and reproductive health services coming to them.
Family Planning has clinics located throughout New Zealand. Use the clinic finder to find your nearest clinic.
