Covid-19 information for clients

What you need to know at Alert Level 1

At Family Planning, we will do our best to ensure you receive the care you require while keeping you and our staff safe.

All services are open, however, we do want to remind you about following the guidance below:

  1. Please do not come to the clinic if you are sick – stay at home and call us. We will rebook you for a phone appointment if appropriate.
  2. If you have cold or flu symptoms call your doctor or Healthline on 0800 358 5453 and make sure you get tested.
  3. Wash your hands. Wash your hands. Wash your hands.
  4. Sneeze and cough into your elbow, and use the hand sanitiser (gel) provided in the clinic.
  5. Avoid touching your face.
  6. Use the Covid-19 tracer app and keep track of where you've been.

 

What You Need to Know at Alert Level 2

At Family Planning, we will do our best to ensure you receive the care you require while keeping you and our staff safe.

Before your appointment:

  1. If you are having a face-to-face appointment, we will ask you some questions upon arrival at the clinic to ensure you are not at risk of Covid-19.
  2. If you are able to have your appointment by phone we will let you know.
  3. Please try not to bring other people with you to your appointment so that physical distancing is maintained in our waiting and clinic rooms.

At your appointment:

  1. We strongly encourage you to wear a mask at all times in the clinic.
  2. Hand sanitiser (gel) stations are at the entrance to the clinic, reception desk and in the clinic rooms. Please use this on entry and exit from the clinic.
  3. You will need to use the QR tracking code or sign the visitors’ log book to help with contact tracing if needed.
  4. There will be screens on the reception desk to provide a safety barrier.
  5. Our staff will be wearing suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep you and themselves safe.
  6. Cashless payment is best and we have EFTPOS available in most clinics.

 

What You Need to Know at Alert Level 3

At Family Planning, we will do our best to ensure you receive the care you require while keeping you and our staff safe.

Face-to-face appointments are reduced at Alert Level 3. Where suitable, we will book a phone appointment for you. 

Only one or two clients will be allowed in the clinic at a time to ensure physical distancing can be maintained. We will be spacing the appointments to ensure you can be seen quickly so you should not need to wait for too long.

Before your appointment:

  1. If you are having a face-to-face appointment, we will ask you some questions prior to arrival to ensure you are not at risk of Covid-19.
  2. Please try not to bring other people with you to your appointment so that physical distancing can be maintained in our waiting and clinic rooms.
  3. Please maintain physical distancing of two metres when waiting outside the clinic and in the clinic waiting room.
  4. Please come to the clinic at the time allocated. You may be asked to wait outside the clinic if there are too many people in the waiting room.
  5. Please ring ahead and cancel if you become unwell. You can also cancel your appointment online by visiting the Family Planning website.
  6. If you are having an IUD insertion or cervical screening (smear) test, bring a sarong or towel in a bag. This can be used as a modesty blanket. Don’t forget to have your breakfast or lunch before your appointment.
  7. Organise someone to take you home after your IUD insertion if needed.

At Alert Level 4 the only face-to-face appointments will be for Depo Provera repeats and IUD insertions. Where suitable, all other appointments will be done by phone or rebooked when alert levels are reduced.
