ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Director of Hauora Māori and Equity/Ringatohu Hauora Māori/Mana Taurite.
This in an integral role responsible for strategic leadership, expertise and advocacy of Māori Health and, Equity across the organisation. You will be an ambassador of our promise to drive forward equitable access and outcomes, particularly for Māori.
Alongside our Senior Management Team and with a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi you will devise and implement our Māori Health and Equity strategic action plan. In collaboration with and supported by the Senior Management Team you will drive all aspects of diversity, inclusion and equity.
We are looking for someone who has extensive knowledge of the equity issues and barriers that impact access to healthcare services. You will have previous experience around successful engagement with the Māori community and key stakeholders. You will have an understanding of tikanga Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and be proficient in te reo Māori.
Additionally, you must be able to demonstrate;
- Experience and success in Māori leadership and engagement.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strategic and critical thinking competencies.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Commitment to Family Planning’s philosophy and goals.
This role is newly created to advance our strategic framework to achieve equity and further advocacy for Māori wellbeing in Aotearoa. You will be well-supported in our caring organisation. You will have an opportunity to make meaningful and tangible contributions in our organisation that will positively impact our stakeholders and the communities we exist to serve.
