Family Planning’s Gisborne staff are heading to the beach this summer – only they’ll be working while visitors to the BW Campgrounds will be enjoying the sun and surf.
Family Planning will be running a mobile clinic with a nurse on-site at the beach front on 28, 29 and 30 December from 11am until 3pm each day. Services will include:
- Emergency Contraception (free to New Zealand Residents under 22)
- Condoms and lube
- Contraceptive advice and information
- Information about sexually transmissible infections
Our health promoter will also be on site in the Powder Room from 11am until 3pm on 28, 29 and 30 December. Powder Room visitors will be able to get condoms, lube and friendly advice – all for free.
There will be a limited supply of free condoms but scripts will be available for 144 condoms for $3.00 for as usual.
And, for people heading into Gisborne city itself, the Family Planning Clinic at 40 Childers Road will be open on Wednesday 28 December, Thursday 29 December and Friday 30 December from 11am until 3pm.
Along with all those summer essentials – sunhats, sunscreen and chilly bins – Family Planning is reminding BW Campground visitors to pack their regular contraception and to make sure they’ve got condoms and lube on hand if there’s a chance they could be having sex.
