The Hamilton Family Planning Clinic is moving to a new location.
From Monday 9 November, the clinic will be open at its new site – 240 Tristram Street, Hamilton – opposite the Founders Theatre. Clinic manager Robyn Smith says the clinic will be closed on 4, 5 and 6 November to allow the move to go ahead.
“We have been in our current site, on the corner of Anglesea and London Streets, since November 1993 and we’ve simply outgrown the space. Our doctors and nurses see around 15,000 clients each year and these numbers are continuing to grow. We needed to find a space that was more flexible and allowed us room to grow,” Ms Smith says.
“We also were looking for space that was better for our clients and which offered easier access, newer facilities and better parking. The new building meets all these criteria.”
The new space also means that Family Planning health promoters can be accommodated within the same building.
If you’re under 22, a visit to a Family Planning Clinic is free. If you’re over 22 and have a Community Services Card, a visit costs just $5 and for all other New Zealand Residents. New and existing clients can phone 07 839 4061 to make an appointment.
The clinic is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9am until 5pm and on Tuesday and Wednesday it is open from 9am until 9pm. It is also open on the first Saturday of each month from 9am until 1pm.
