Family Planning is delighted to have been shortlisted as one of six charities to receive a share of $10,000 from Sovereign Sunshine in September.

Voting for Family Planning will help us grow our share of the $10,000 donation. At the end of the month if Family Planning has the most votes we will also receive an additional donation of up to $5,000 from fundraising by Sovereign staff.

The Sovereign donation will go towards reprinting Open and Honest – a parent’s guide to talking to their children about sex and sexuality. This booklet provides parents with the skills, knowledge and confidence to have ‘that talk’ with their children about sexuality, relationships and growing up.

Sovereign Sunshine is a community-based programme run by insurance company Sovereign and is designed to promote health and wellbeing in local communities across New Zealand. The programme gives donations to not-for-profit organisations of up to $15,000 based on votes by New Zealanders and fundraising by Sovereign staff.

Voting is open during September on the Sovereign Sunshine website to all New Zealanders. Everyone who votes will go into a draw to win an Apple iPod Nano 8GB.

Family Planning is excited to be a nominated charity this September and we are eagerly spreading the word for supporters to vote. Just a few minutes of your time, could make a big difference to us.
