Family Planning Library

 

The Family Planning library is located in our National Office in Wellington. It has a specialised collection of over 2000 national and international books, reports, periodicals and vertical files.

The collection covers a wide range of sexual and reproductive health subjects including:

• abortion
• contraceptive methods
• disability and sexuality
• HIV/AIDS
• menopause
• infertility
• men's sexual health
• pro and anti-choice movements
• relationships
• religious and ethical views
• sexual abuse
• sexual orientation
• sexuality education
• sexually transmissible infections
• youth sexuality
• world population, development and environmental issues
• international conventions and Treaties

The library services include:

• Access to the library collection
• Internet research assistance
• Staff assistance in literature and subject searches
• Links to international libraries specialising in sexual and reproductive health

Library Catalogue

Complete records of the collection are held via the Koha catalogue system, an external website.

Search: Family Planning library catalogue

Simple instructions for searching the library catalogue :

• Type in your search term/s in the "Search for:" box. You can use the drop-down menus here to specify. 

• Scroll down to "Location and Availability" box and select Family Planning from the drop-down menu.
  
• Click on the blue "Search" button.
  
• The results of your search will be displayed. Tick the box of those items you want to see; click on "Add to Cart".
  
• When you have finished selecting items, click on the green "Cart" button to display the books or items you have selected in a new window.
  
• You then choose "Send" (to Library) and paste library@familyplanning.org.nz into the "Send" box to send your selection to the Information Services Advisor, and include your name.
  
• Click on "Print" to print for your own records if necessary or "Empty and close" to start over.

Your selection will be received and processed by the Information Services Advisor, at the Family Planning library in National Office, Wellington.

You will be sent a confirmation email and your items will be posted out as soon as possible, generally within 48 hours.
